Kentucky Derby 150: Post Positions Announced

The post positions for the 150th running of the Kentucky Derby were drawn on Thursday evening at Churchill Downs. California Chrome, the morning-line favorite, drew the No. 5 post position. Commanding Curve, the second choice on the morning line, drew the No. 3 post. Danza, the third choice on the morning line, drew the No. 6 post.
The Kentucky Derby is scheduled for Saturday, May 4, at Churchill Downs. The race is a 1 1/4-mile dirt race for 3-year-old horses. The winner of the Kentucky Derby will earn a spot in the Breeders' Cup Classic, which will be held at Keeneland Racecourse in Lexington, Kentucky, on November 2.
